Website Income on the Internet: The Problem with Getting Started

I found successful website operators very reluctant to share the secrets of their success.  Even when I asked IT friends who had a few successful web sites the secrets of their success, I would get, at best, incomplete and vague answers.  I suspect they thought I would copy their website(s) and take their business away from them.

I have to confess, I don't want you to copy my websites, and I think this is what my contacts were trying to avoid, but I don't think you CAN copy my websites, or my ideas - as they are all based on specific personal knowledge and life experience.  If you have had exactly the same life I have, then you could, but you haven't had my life and my experiences - so you can't. 

It is EXACTLY your life experience and interests that will lead you to success in developing web sites - so your success will be based on what you know - not on what I know.

The other problem I ran into was that productive and helpful website forums and discussion groups gradually became "pay for use" and very expensive.  I used to hang out on www.WebmasterWorld.com, but it became a US$89 every three months subscription site.    Many other discussion websites were only thinly-veiled stages to sell you their e-book or other products.  Products will be suggested on this website - but that is not the main purpose of the website.  It is to help you AND to help me meet some income goals over the next several years.
